Four Victims Wounded at Howe Park Sacramento - Large Unauthorized Party Erupts in Gunfire





On the evening of Saturday April 18, an unsanctioned event of several hundred people at the Howe Park area in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade area descended into chaos when an estimated 20 to 25 gunshots rang out as Sacramento County law enforcement were in the midst of removing people from the park.

How It Unfolded

At approximately 6:30 PM, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office was alerted involving subjects possibly armed with concealed weapons at Howe Park. A follow-up call advised of a reported fight and individuals running from the park.

Air support was utilized and scanned the park but failed to identify any active disturbance.

Despite this, multiple hundreds of people had assembled at the location for what the sheriff's office identified as an unauthorized gathering. Officers formed a perimeter around the park, activated their vehicle emergency lights, and dedicated around 15 minutes instructing attendees to vacate the area via loudspeaker announcements.

As officers worked to clear the park, upwards of 20 gunshots rang out — sending the crowd scattering in all directions.

Those Injured

Four gunshot victims — a woman and three men, ranging in age through their 20s — were rushed to local hospitals. Two sustained immediate injuries, one suffered moderate read more injuries, and one was treated for minor injuries. All four were reported in stable condition. What Was Found at the Scene
